All-Star Grooming is owned and operated by Linda and Gordon Gage. Linda has over 25 years of Grooming and Salon ownership experience, having founded and managed Desert Knight Grooming before opening All-Star Grooming. Gordon joined All-Star Grooming as Linda’s Partner in 2016, after a successful career in the corporate manufacturing world. Linda expertly and with a loving hand manages all our “Dog & Cat Operations”, while Gordon oversees our “Non-Dog-Ops” of Marketing, Engineering, IT, and Finance/Accounting.
Our fun, bright, climate-controlled Bathing & Grooming facility has an open layout which allows customers to view all of our grooming stations, so that they may observe the loving, professional care we offer. Each member of our treasured family of expert professional Staff has been carefully selected to to ensure that they fulfill All-Star Grooming’s Mission every single day, which is to treat your pet with the utmost care and respect. We utilize the very best and most modern Technology, Equipment, and Products with which to completely pamper your pet on his/her special spa day – we want THEM to enjoy their bubble-baths and haircuts and nail trims and bandanas and ribbons as much as YOU do! We also offer a full line of Spa Services to give your pet that personalized extra – Teeth Brushing, Blueberry Facial Scrubs, De-Shed and De-Matt Treatments, Nail Polish, Color Dyeing, Hot Oil & Moisturizing Treatments, Feather Extensions, and much more!
We also partner with Veterinarian Dr. Natalie Schuster and Tammy Ceroni and her team of expert Non-Anesthetic Dental Technicians from CanineCaresAZ to host an Anesthesia-Free Teeth-Cleaning Event once every 2 months on Sundays. This is a wonderful, amazingly effective, and necessary health-service for all dogs, at a fraction of the price a Vet’s office charges, and at NO risk of adverse anesthetic reaction – talk to Linda TODAY for details!
Linda Gage is also a Founding Member of Arizona Golden Rescue, and our Team regularly gives back to the dog community by offering grooming services to rescued Goldens for a reduced rate through both Rescue A Golden of AZ and Arizona Golden Rescue. Dogs up for adoption at "Poodle Rescue" are also groomed at a reduced rate. Our greatest pleasure is seeing dogs transformed from frightened animals to happy, tail wagging, smiling pets as they are placed with their forever families. That is a reward like no other!
Linda Gage was born and raised in the small Connecticut town of Watertown, and she moved to Arizona in 1991. She and her family have always owned dogs (Dad raised Beagles), and this love for animals started her on a path to devoting her professional life to working with pets. Her dogs were her best friends growing up, and they continue to be so to this day. Although she had a very successful career in corporate sales and marketing, working with dogs was a constant desire, so a career change to dog grooming was how she found a way to pursue her passion.
Linda founded Desert Knight Grooming in 1995 shortly after completing her breed specific grooming training. She intended to be the little neighborhood groomer who people could trust with their beloved pets. News of her warm, loving treatment quickly spread by word of mouth from her satisfied clients. Shortly after opening, her business grew to the point where she had to hire her first employee and the rest, as they say, is history.
Having been a Mom to Golden Retrievers since 1991, Linda is completely attached to the breed. During the past 27 years, she has had the pleasure of being owned by Beechnut, Bubba, Keegan, Bear, Samantha, Finley, Fletcher, Libby, and now Fenway. When she adopted Finley from Rescue A Golden of AZ in 2001, she decided to foster Goldens. After seven successful forever family placements, it became more and more difficult to give up the fosters, since Linda became so attached to them. In 2009 Linda became a Founding Member of Arizona Golden Rescue, and to this day All-Star Grooming continues to give back to the Rescue community by offering discounted Grooming to local Dog Rescue Organizations.
Although Goldens are her personal breed of choice, Linda loves all breeds. It is so satisfying to her each day to see her Clients' dogs scratch at the door to come in for grooming because they are so excited to see her! Of course, not all come in so willingly, but having them relax and trust Linda and her team and eventually enjoy the grooming procedure is a great accomplishment and source of joy.
Erica Megyeri began her Grooming Career in Connecticut more than 10 years ago. She steadily worked her way up to become Grooming Manager at a large pet store before she and her husband, along with their 3 dogs at the time, moved to Arizona in 2010. In early 2014, Erica rejoined Linda and the All-Star Grooming Team after having previously groomed together at Desert Knight.
In 2015 Erica was deservedly promoted to All-Star Grooming's Salon Manager, where she now mentors others and shares her incredible knowledge and experience. Her keen understanding of dog behavior is an invaluable supplement to her outstanding Grooming skills. Erica's innate ability to design and style a beautiful haircut that suits each dog's personality and body is amazing! These days, her 2 rescue dogs Mia and Leo can be found happily greeting doggie playmates at All-Star Grooming!
Amanda Lippert started her career in the dog world in 2003 as a Volunteer in an animal shelter, and knew almost immediately that her professional life would be spent working with, helping, and loving dogs. She earned her Certification in Veterinary Assisting in Washington State, where she assisted Vets in many different types of surgeries, including spay / neuter and periodontal procedures.
In 2004 she completed her breed-specific Dog Grooming studies, and over the past 14 years she has perfected and diversified her grooming skills to include Bichons, Poodles, Shih Tzus, Lhasas, and Goldens, as well as many types of mixed breeds. Amanda LOVES all large hairy dogs as well! She has an incredible gift for working with senior and special needs dogs, and she has an infinite amount of patience working with those dogs who do not particularly enjoy being bathed and groomed.
Amanda lives with 4 dogs of her own, including Gemma, a precocious Shih Tzu, who can be found lounging around All-Star Grooming, showing off her Mom’s talents for dyeing her hair various colors! Amanda may also be familiar to you because she Groomed with us "back in the day" at Desert Knight, and we are thrilled and fortunate to have her with us here at All-Star Grooming!
Kelli Vaughn is that rarest of breeds among us all here in the Valley – a lifelong / native Phoenician. From a very early age, Kelli could feel that Grooming was (and is to this day!) her passion and calling. She trained and trained towards her goal and her dream, and through hard work and dedication became the phenomenal Professional Pet Stylist we know today. All-Star Grooming is so fortunate to have Kelli working with us!
Kelli now boasts over 25 years of experience and expertise in Grooming both Dogs and Cats. She is wonderfully gentle and compassionate to all breeds, and is especially outstanding working with larger dogs, ie: Standard Poodles, Old English Sheepdogs, Doodles, etc.
Kelli and her husband and son are owned by 5 Rescue Dogs – 3 Chihuahua mixes Snickers, Bo, and Luke, a Pit named Kooter, a Papillon called Molly, and a 72 YEAR OLD Red Mexican Redhead Parrot named Paulie – truly a family of Pet Lovers and Owners after our own heart!
Sonia Lopez has been a Professional Pet Stylist for more than 41 years. She is a Certified Master Groomer, and her specialty is in exquisite and expert scissoring for all AKC breeds of dogs. Sonia is a member of the International Professional Groomer Association, and is also a past winner of Best All-Around Groomer and Best Groomed Dog of Show at numerous competitions all across the country. We feel so fortunate to have her with us here at All-Star Grooming!
Chelsea Loucks has been working with animals since high school. She started off working at an animal hospital as a kennel attendant, and then decided to pursue her animal career in a more creative and artistic way. Chelsea graduated from Grooming School 6 years ago and has been grooming ever since. She enjoys grooming all breeds, but her favorite is Australian Shepherds. Chelsea has six fur babies of her own, 2 dogs and 4 cats, that she absolutely adores. Her passion for grooming only gets stronger with time, and she plans to remain in her chosen profession for the rest of her entire career.
Kitty Brooks just moved back here from Seattle, and she’s been grooming professionally for 7 years in all different kinds of environments. Kitty graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Pima Medical Institute in 2011, and has done a lot of volunteer work in animal shelters and with wildlife rehabilitation organizations.
Kitty originally first became interested in grooming as a teenager when she got a standard poodle named Elvis. She started grooming him herself (poor Elvis took a couple oopsies along the way!), but Kitty credits him for really giving her a passion for and interest in grooming!
She currently has 2 Chinese Cresteds (hairless), an Australian Kelpie, 2 cats, and Kitty very much wants an Afghan hound in the near future. We’re thrilled she’s a part of our All-Star Grooming Family!
GROOMING SERVICES LINEUP & PRICING
All services include a one on one consultation with one of our Groomers.
We offer a wide range of grooming services, from a basic freshening to a full haircut and style. All services include nail trimming and filing, ear cleaning and hair removal, sanitary area cleaning, gentle expression of anal glands (externally), and shaving of the foot pads.
It is difficult to set exact pricing for an individual pet, even by breed. So many factors determine the cost, such as size and temperament of pet, length and condition of your pet's coat, type of cut desired (amount of scissoring required), and the length of time needed for bathing and drying. Please feel free to call us with an accurate description of your pet and we will give you a price range. You will find that our prices are very competitive, and the quality of our Professional cut and care is the best ANYWHERE.
The "SINGLE" service includes a nail trim and filing.
The "DOUBLE" option includes a massaging bath and complete brush out, as well as a nail trim and filing, gentle sanitary trim, foot pad trim, and gentle ear cleaning. We also carefully express anal glands externally. We refer to these as Maintenance Services. Prices vary depending upon breed, length and condition of coat, and amount of matting. An average bath & brush for a small breed (Shih-tzu) dog is approximately $45.00. Additional charges may apply for de-matting.
The "TRIPLE" service includes a massaging bath and complete brush out, trimming of the face (so you can better see their sweet expressions) and head, and rounding of the feet in addition to the Maintenance Services listed above. An average price for a small breed dog is approximately $52.00. Additional charges may apply for de-matting. Larger breeds, such as a Golden Retriever, start at $66.00, and also include scissoring to neaten up the appearance of the feathering and "toe hair".
The "HOME RUN" service includes all of the above plus a full-body trim and styling of your choice. An average full groom price for a small breed dog starts at $64.00. Pricing is also based upon condition of coat and amount of matting, and sometimes degree of difficulty due to pet personality. Larger breeds start at $78.00.
The "DOUBLE HEADER" includes any of the above services plus a day of play in our adjacent Daycare facility. Being pampered in Bathing & Grooming, and then having a fun-filled day of interaction and socialization with similar-size-dogs, are sure to leave your furry baby as happy as can be! We have hourly, part-day, half-day, and full-day rates from which to choose, depending on your day’s schedule.
GOT HAIR? We offer de-shedding services to help get rid of that unwanted pet hair. While shedding is natural and cannot be completely eliminated, we can reduce by a high percentage the amount of loose hair in your home. We use Furminator® treatment and de-shedding tools to enhance the effectiveness of our "human elbow grease" in removing unwanted hair. Our starting price for this treatment is $10.00, and depends on the amount of time spent with your pet and the amount of undercoat removed. You'll love the results!
TEETH BRUSHING is another service we provide. It will help remove some of the bacteria in your dog's mouth and reduce bad breath. This $10.00 treatment includes a personal toothbrush and premium Virbac® vanilla mint enzymatic toothpaste. NOTE: Routine dental care should be a part of every pet’s health care program. This service is not intended to replace regular dental cleaning.
All-Star Grooming also grooms CATS! Please call for pricing.
We also have discounted charges for pets on a regular weekly or biweekly schedule. Please call for those discounts.
WELCOME! to our BRAND-NEW All-Star Dog Daycare & Training Facility. We are EXCITED to offer these new Services to our Clients and Friends!
We are the same expert, loving, gentle, and caring company and Staff you’ve come to trust and rely upon from All-Star Grooming. Linda Gage personally oversees all aspects of our new Daycare & Training business, so you can be confident we have only the very best professional dog-care experts and Trainers working with and caring for your beloved furry-family-members!
All-Star Daycare has built a brand-new facility (connected to our Grooming Salon) specifically to care for your pet while you’re at work or anytime you have a busy day or just need a break for some “you-time”. Our Daycare features bright, fun colors with beautiful scenic wall murals, a special non-slip flooring surface, doggie playground equipment, a viewing area where your baby can see outside, comfy beds, and many, many toys of all sizes and types for your pet to play with throughout the day. We have separate Large Dog and Small Dog Daycare & Play areas, so your dog will always be frolicking with other similar-sized pups (and….if your small baby likes to romp and exercise with the big-boys, we can always let him/her play in whichever area you choose!) If you have a non-play-loving and/or senior pet, we have individual and small-group areas with soft beds they can choose to relax and nap in.
Our professional dog-care experts will personally and individually take your pet outside at least twice per day for potty breaks in our large, shaded outdoor area (where they’ll be able to safely romp and run and play in the cooler months).
All-Star Daycare is perfect for your dog if he/she spends a lot of time alone at home while you’re at work, or if he/she is not able to get an adequate amount of exercise and/or socialization with other dogs to keep him/her fit and healthy. If you have a busy life and would like a safe and loving place where you can drop your dog off for a few hours or for the day, come see us! All-Star Daycare will give your dog the opportunity to spend time away from home – socializing, playing, and exercising with other similar-sized dogs and our human caregiver professionals. You may always feel free to bring a lunch and / or treats for your dog to enjoy while he/she is here – we will always place him/her in an individual pen at meal time, to eliminate the possibility of food-jealousy from other dogs. We also offer varied activities daily which allow your dog to make new friends as well as play with old friends, and we have individual play activities if you and your dog prefer not to be part of a group.
We offer MANY different pricing packages for all needs and budgets – Hourly, Part-Day (up to 3 hours), Half-Day (4 Hours), Full Day (up to 10 hours), Weekly, and Monthly (unlimited).

Frequently Asked Questions
1. How much do you charge?
All-Star Grooming does not have a set price list, due to the many variables in your pet’s bathing and grooming requirements, and also the personalized time and attention each individual pet needs . We charge based on coat, condition, and elapsed time between regular grooms. Please call for a quote on your individual pet.
2. Do you do cats?
Yes, we do groom cats. All-Star Grooming has 2 Professional Pet Stylists who specialize in kitties!
3. Do you do pluck ear hair and express anal glands?
We normally do gently pluck ear hair, as Veterinarians recommend. We also clean them so the ear canal can breathe. The anal glands are carefully expressed externally. Both of these are included in every bath & brush and/or haircut that we offer. Also included are a sanitary trim and toe nail trim.
4. Do I need an appointment for grooming?
Yes, an appointment is highly recommended. During the Fall, Winter and Spring months we are especially busy, and may book out a day or so (instead of same-day, which we can frequently offer), especially around the Holidays.
5. Can I get my pet Bathed and Groomed on a regular schedule?
Yes, many of our clients are on a regular schedule and book months in advance. This eliminates trying to get an appointment last minute.
6. How long does it take to get my dog groomed?
Each pet requires a different amount of time based upon many factors such as coat condition, length of coat, degree of matting, frequency of grooms, etc . . . We strive to get your pet through the grooming process in the least amount of time. For most breeds, this is normally a 3 hour process. Some dogs are perfectly content being pampered and like to stay all day! For those that do not, we offer an express service (at an additional charge). To ensure that we may prepare properly for your requested express service, please be sure to let us know at the time you book your appointment, so that we may plan accordingly. We are happy to commit to a specific pick up time to meet your needs.
7. Do you do big dogs?
Yes, we do all sizes and all breeds of dogs.
8. What products do you use?
We use premium branded natural, gentle products to care for your pets.
9. What are your hours?
Tuesday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Dog Daycare FAQ
Q: Do you offer overnight Boarding?
A: No, we currently do not offer overnight stays, but we do have trusted resources for both in-your-home-pet-sitting, as well as in-caregiver’s-home-pet-sitting if you’d like!
Q: How much do you charge?
A: We have several pricing options, for different Daycare requirements, situations, and budgets. Talk to Linda to find the best plan for you and your pet.
Q: How is All-Star Dog Daycare & Training different than the daycare service I currently use?
A: All-Star Dog Daycare offers a “Living Room” environment for you and your dog, as opposed to a “Warehouse” environment that the big daycare factories have. For example, we do not have a “pee & poop in-place” policy, like the big industrial, hose-the-floors-down places. Instead, every dog is given individual, personalized care – outdoor potty breaks, bottled water, play with caregivers, etc.
Q: Who will be taking care of my dog?
A: All-Star Dog Daycare has only Professional Dog Caregivers on its Daycare Staff, unlike the high-school kids the big factories use. Our Caregivers are experienced experts who know how to interact with and protect your precious pet.
Q: Do I need to make a reservation?
A: Yes, please! Reservations are highly desired and recommended, due to the necessary pre-acceptance work that must be done – completion of Daycare documents and our Canine Behavioral Interview. PLEASE PLAN ON 15 MINUTES FOR YOUR INITIAL VISIT!
Q: Is my dog required to have its shots to attend Daycare?
A: Yes – this information must be recorded on our Application Form. Certain exceptions may be made if your Vet verifies your pet is allergic to required shots / vaccinations.
Q: What hours is Daycare open?
A: All-Star Dog Daycare operates Mondays through Fridays from 7 A.M. to 5 P.M., and on Saturdays from 7 A.M. to 3P.M. We also offer special extended-hours early-drop-offs and late-pick-ups by prior agreement. Here at All-Star Dog Daycare & Training, we will always accommodate YOUR schedule, not the other way around like the warehouses.
Q: Can my dog eat a meal at Daycare?
A: Sure! We will be happy to privately feed you pet – just drop off a container of food with your pet’s name on it and your clear instructions for feeding him/her labeled on it.
Q: Do you provide toys?
A: Boy, do we ever! Your pet will have a large variety of both toys and playground equipment to play with and on. We ask that toys not be brought from home, as it may become the “favorite” of another pet at Daycare.
Q: Even though my dog is small, he/she likes to play with bigger dogs. Is that allowed?
A: Yes it is! We support all the choices that pets in our Daycare make with respect to playmates, so long as both pets enjoy the interaction. Helpful and insightful information like this is a good example of why we ask so many “personality questions” on our Application Form.
Q: My dog doesn’t like other dogs and just needs a safe, quiet place to go while I run my errands. What do you offer for older or non-playful dogs?
A: We have a special Quiet Area with both individual and small-group (2-3 dogs) pens with comfy beds for our geriatric and/or passive, nap-loving pets.
Q: Does my dog have to be spayed / neutered to come to Daycare?
A: No – we evaluate each dog based on his / her behavior. We have numerous non-fixed dogs that play and socialize beautifully within both large and small groups.
Q: Do you offer any discounts?
A: We do – speak with Linda about our most cost-effective Weekly or Monthly plans.
